I work 7 miles away, and my usually wonderful 4th floor view of my blossoming tree and backdrop of the Pennines is disrupted by a smoky background. My friend John is in Manchester keeping me updated.

I was travelling to work this morning through piccadilly gardens, I can't believe people were allowed to walk through - this was at half seven, the smoke was that heavy! There was even falling ash on Moseley Street!

I saw the first blaze on my way to football training this morning. The fire spread very quickly! The fire fighters seem to be controlling the situation now. I hope nobody was hurt!

I saw the smoke this morning at about 6.40am as I was leaving for work. I heard sirens about 5/10 mins before that. I live approx 5 mins walk from Dale St.

Hello,
I live near Granada Studios where they film corrie which id say was around a 25 min walk from the scene and i can smell the smoke from here, there is serious road congestion and id really recommend no one to travel into Manchester city centre unless its urgent

I was lucky with this fire. I live down the street, and my hairdryer packed up this morning!
